OrthoPreserve Meniscus Implant

OrthoPreserve is developing an artificial meniscus implant to fill a critical treatment gap for patients with symptomatic meniscus dysfunction. Our implant is engineered from a composite biomaterial that replicates the mechanical properties of natural meniscus tissue, restoring joint cushioning and stability through a minimally invasive procedure using common arthroscopic techniques.

Patients with ongoing meniscus issues are left with few options to relieve their pain, restore mobility, and preserve their long-term knee health:

  • Conservative non-surgical treatments are largely ineffective and do not address the underlying dysfunction;

  • Meniscectomy (trimming) surgery provides only temporary relief and accelerates a cascade of knee degeneration;

  • Knee replacements are highly invasive, costly, and generally only indicated for older patients with advanced arthritis.

A significant treatment gap exists for patients with meniscus dysfunction who are not yet ready for a knee replacement.

The solution to this problem: OrthoPreserve’s Meniscus Implant

OrthoPreserve’s meniscus implant is a first-of-its-kind solution that can serve as a more reliable treatment option for patients with meniscus dysfunction who want to continue activities from recreational sports to simply walking their dog without pain or impairment.
