Jonathan Schwartz

Jonathan invented the revolutionary meniscus implant in 2018 while pursuing his graduate degree in biomechanical engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Jonathan spent the early days of his career in the polymer science industry, where he focused on research. He then transitioned into biotech as an engineering project manager, gaining broad experience across R&D, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and operations. He came back to the meniscus project in 2022 after co-founding OrthoPreserve with orthopedic clinicians who recognized the huge need for the technology. His diverse background drives OrthoPreserve’s innovation in developing minimally invasive solutions for orthopedic care.
Cyrus Kump, MD
CMO & FOUNDER
Dr. Kump is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 20 years treating ailments of the human musculoskeletal system specializing in arthroscopy of the knee/meniscus, shoulder, and joint replacements. He is a retired army reservist of 31 years with the last 13 years as an orthopedic surgeon who deployed three times to combat zones. During his tours of duty, he was called to treat severely injured soldiers and received the Army commendation medal and Army achievement medal, and retired with the rank of full colonel in 2017. He is currently a full partner in the largest orthopedic practice in Virginia, OrthoVirginia.
Max Guillot
VP & FOUNDER
Max Guillot holds a BS in chemistry and biology and began his career as an EMT before pursuing graduate studies. Over the last 5 years, he has worked as an orthopedic PA, specializing in diagnosing, treating, and assisting in surgeries for meniscus and other orthopedic injuries. Max’s extensive hands-on experience and passion for delivering a quality patient experience gives him a deep understanding of both patient care and the specific needs of surgeons, making him a valuable asset in transitioning the meniscus implant into orthopedic practice.
